Hi and Welcome

This is the rambling of an unique person who recognises that you are also an unique person worthy of respect and love. Sometimes this blog will be loving, sometimes angry, sometimes sad and sometimes joyful. Who knows!
I have a strong sense of the ridiculous and the amusing.

Please join me for laughter and tears.

God, Love and Life

I had a mail today that had the following message

The best way to say, 'I love you, God,' is to live your life doing your best.

The best way to say, 'Thank you, God,' is by letting go of the past ...

...and living in the present moment, right here and now.

Peace

Today has been a strange day. People I care about have imploded and then exploded at each other!! All I have for today is an image...with the hope its beauty will settle in hearts it touches.

Blessed be.

George Bush

Amazed to agree with him on something.

President George Bush has repeated his belief all religions, “whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God” – an assertion that caused outrage among evangelical leaders when he said it in November 2003.

I'm so stunned I can't think of anything else to say!!

Two Great Blogs Sites - one inspired author

Today while surfing I came across two blog sites by a Catholic mother Donna Cooper O'Boyle. They are wonderful. The first Embracing Motherhood is a marvellous resource for those wearied by the commercialism and materialism of raising children. Here is a mother who loves and serves the Lord in raising her children. A breath of fresh air in a secular world.

The second is
Daily Inspiration. I'm not sure we are always going to agree but this lady is obviously filled with the love of God and I applaud her commitment to the Lord in presenting her points clearly and with a flourish. I also particularly like Father Jame's Sunday Homilys.

I have added them to my links.

Teresa Of Avila

"It is love alone that gives worth to all things. "

Today's feast day is
Teresa of Avila. She is one of only three lady Doctors of the Church. I had heard of her but was not familiar with her work and devotion to God. I vaguely remembered she was a friend of John of the Cross and had reformed the Carmelite Order to form the Discalced Carmelites (Barefoot Carmelites) but I could not have quoted one word of her beliefs or made comment other than she was a Saint.

I like a couple of quotes attributed to her...

"To reach something good it is very useful to have gone astray, and thus acquire experience. "

"Seeing, then, that our Lord is so powerful, — as I see and know He is, — and that the evil spirits are His slaves, of which there can be no doubt, because it is of faith, — and I a servant of this our Lord and King, — what harm can Satan do unto me? Why have I not strength enough to fight against all hell? I took up the cross in my hand, — I was changed in a moment into another person, and it seemed as if God had really given me courage enough not to be afraid of encountering all the evil spirits. "

Spiritual Book

I spent most of Saturday afternoon and evening (until 2 am) engrossed in a book by the Dalai Lama. I needed a dictionary at times to deal with the archaic and over specified wording. An example of the complexity of the language is "the emptiness of inherent existence" is a posh way of saying something doesn't really exist. However, dictionary aside this is a mindblowing book which has triggered a number of aha moments for me. If you can brave the verbosity of the script it is well worth a read.

Danish Royal Family (DRF)

This has got to be the funniest and most brilliant book review of all time.

Jyllands Posten's Niels Lillelund delivers a review of 1015 Købenavn K by Trine Villemann's or maybe not. Please read the review but not the book, you'll see why.

1015 Købenavn K review Dated 14th October 2007

Many thanks to Danish Royal Watchers and their translator from the orginal Danish.
